It is ALWAYS the most fun when Vanessa joins me (for real I cut over like 18 mins of just me talking because I forget we’re not just hanging out). This check in, Q3 Astrology was no different.
Venus is a big player this summer, Vanessa explains what a retrograde is, gives us the low down on the moon’s nodes switching signs, and I loved it. I feel like Vanessa’s approach to astrology enriches my life. She pushes me to think with even more compassion and expanded awareness of systems we’re all trying to thrive within.

MET ROOFTOP LAUREN HALSEY- We talked about Venus Day activities, and I plan on heading up to the Met Rooftop this Friday after my reiki volunteer shift. Mercury will Sextile Neptune which is a real vibe for art and healing. Get into it!
NY Free Museum List- And on the topic of Venus Day vibes, I always remind people that you can hit NY Museums for free! I try to take advantage of this often, it feels so luxurious to just waltz in, put your phone on airplane for a bit and coast around a museum.
Sojo- I declared this summer Spa Gal summer, and my friend Kate whisked me away to this place last week. Holy moly. Wow. It felt like a dream. I know this list has been NY centric so far but Tri State people, I highly recommend this as a little staycation day, or even two if you book a hotel room you get access to the whole complex for two days. It looks like they have a gym there too, maybe I’ll just move in.
Pilates Assembly- My aforementioned friend Kate blew my mind with some private pilates instruction recently. I had done some mat pilates and it was always cool, but this was truly like a healing session. I felt a true physiological shift in our session.
Kate is a Libra queen who is trying to create offerings that are inclusive and supportive to all bodies and minds. She teaches great online classes too-for our non NYC fam.
Deiji Studios - I need this dress, but also everything they make. Aside from beachwear, I dream of living in these paperlike garments and various outlandish sneakers, and perhaps a good pair of the ubiquitous Mary Janes this summer. Keep it simple stupid, ya know.
NADA at HRE- This is a great mini documentary on the Harm Reduction facilities here in NYC that I’ve been offering Reiki at since 2016. The Young Lords took over Lincoln Hospital and introduced a simple ear acupuncture protocol to support detoxification in iv drug users as well as many other folks who needed care. It gave way to multiple facilities in NYC as well as world wide that have programs like this. Trigger warning, this clip discusses IV drug use.
Dope is Death- This is a podcast about the original Lincoln Hospital Takeover and the birth of auricular acupuncture.
