Cue the Sarah McLachlan cause it’s a bittersweet episode today. Nina is moving on from the pod and like all things we talk about it on today’s episode. Cue the emotional montage of our great times recording together. Please leave her a message in the comments letting her know how much you will miss her and any favorite Nina-isms.
Sadly there is no drama, I know that would make it more entertaining but just garden variety moving in different directions. Forever grateful to Nina for going on the ride in the first place and shooting off fireworks and airhorns as she sails into her own direction.
Some housekeeping…
You can always stay up to date with Nina on her site and social.
I’m taking a 2 week hiatus which I fought at first like no no lemme keep to the same release schedule and then I got covid. So yeah…no new episodes for two weeks and then a new HTBH
First episode back…..the topic is Break Ups, not to be salacious but it’s literally what we get asked about the most (besides college) so might as well discuss it.
If you would like to share any break up thoughts with the pod, this can be:
what they taught you, how they changed you, the weirdest one you endured, and any form: romantic, platonic, career, community please record them here. You can also email them to me at annatoonk@gmail.com

Covid tears or this pod is that touching?
I would link the Polish electrolytes my neighbor Mags gave me but they may be hard to come by, that being said electrolytes! They are what’s up in fever survival. Whoa. Heard these are good. Keeping them on hand from now on.
Season one was excellent, season two is definitely shaping up the same way for this southern crime focused pod. Season two is delving into the Dixie Mafia which sounds made up but definitely existed.
Friends of the pod Jennifer Sodini and artist Natalee Miller have released another beautiful oracle deck the Modern Nirvana Oracle.
The decision to stagger the episodes of Love is Blind S3? Garbage. The finale is one thing but come on. Hunter Harris’s substack Hung Up is a treat and she also rolled out a thread to discus LIB S3.
Bad Sisters…it’s perfect? Okay too far, but it’s very good and Sharon Horgan is perfect.
Can’t decide if this airbnb in the Azores with a hot spring IN THE HOUSE a great idea or an indoor swamp you’ve traveled too?
Show Notes:
Anna and Nina have an important update for the show and discuss what it’s been like to get clarity about their priorities, especially when it comes to their careers. For Nina, she wants to be more present with her one-on-one clients, classes, and family, so she’s taking a step back from the podcast. Anna is going to continue as a solo host and is playing around with some ideas for the next iteration of How to Be Human, so stay tuned.
Though it’s a bittersweet end of an era, Nina explains how she came to the conclusion that she can no longer show up for the HTBH community in the way that she wants to. She and Anna talk about what it’s like to grow out of decisions and reframe the idea of quitting. They also touch on how they communicated about Nina’s departure from the show and the peace that comes from accepting things for what they are instead of personalizing other people’s actions.
