I’m killing time while Gary is on his walk before I record someone’s Year Ahead Reading (got to avoid the baby bear galloping back in noise) and wanted to check in with ya’ll. How is everyone? Where in the world are you? What are you into right now? How are you feeling as we head into holiday szn? Tell me all the things!
I’m into:
Taking a walk before the sun sets to remember we do live in a beautiful world. Even when it feels impossible to remember that. I’m trying to notice the leaves changing, appreciating the rose bushes by the park still have roses on them and the pumpkin patch that’s been growing the city is allowing and not ripping out of the ground. Magic’s all around if we’ll see it.
Sofia Coppola! Saw Prisicilla with
and loved it but both of us were like guh, that was….something and walked into the night contemplatively. Long live Sofia Coppola and her ability to depict quietly desperate women. I re-watched Marie Antoinette another feast for the eyes. While I was trying to rent it Gary jumped in my lap and I accidentally rented this and honestly the way I laughed at the comedy of errors because it starts with like a powerpoint presentation and I was like wasn’t the opening title sequence pink?Reading Caroline Calloway’s Scammer. I have no idea what to make of her as a person is she a scammer or not, but I will say this her writing is great and the book is very entertaining.
Reading
’s latest Survival Takes a Wild Imagination, and I want to read Roxane Gay’s latest Opinions, anyone read it?The Ordinary’s glycolic acid, ‘tis the season for dry skin! I would argue this toner is too intense for most people’s faces. However….where it really shines is on your feet. I stumbled across this and it works. I tone my feet, put on some aquaphor and my bombas slippers, record Year Aheads and my feet are like new at the end of the day. Apparently I’m very slutty for glycolic acid because I also swear by this for the bod.
When the weather gets chilly I switch back to oil cleansing for the face. My friend Kirin who’s both a very talented make up artist and very generous friend always gifts me products when I see her. She gave me this and I LOVE it. An oil cleansing secret tip, get a bunch of cloth diapers to use as washcloths. They get softer and softer as you use them.
I’ve enjoyed listening to Free From Desire: Asexual in the City of Love, a pod about Aline, asexuality and having a baby. It’s French so chic, ( I kid I kid) but also very interesting.
This Marginalian and Louise Glück poem. Been thinking a lot about life, death, living in a body. The timing was….on point.
Read this essay and enjoyed it, this E. Jean Carrol classic was a fun read, AI astrology and tarot oh my!
So that’s a lil mini round up on my part. Tell me about yourself! Where in the world are you? What are you into? What’s moving you right now?
true life: i was scared of the caterpillar from alice in wonderland as a kid. and truly is there a scarier question than the one he asks?
